Nate Deibler
BLNCD Engineering
With over 20 years of experience with seismic restraint, vibration isolation and product certification, Nate Deibler was excited to start his own engineering company, BLNCD Engineering, earlier this year.
He started out of engineering school as a Field Engineer at Mason Industries for 7 years. He spent the next 3 years in both Outside Sales and Engineering with a rep firm in Denver.
In 2013, he came back to Mason years as the Western Regional Sales Manager. While still being involved in securing large projects with his reps, he had the opportunity to engage engineers and contractors through lectures and discussions in understanding the increasingly complex seismic code requirements. In 2018, he began as the GM for VMC’s Test & Measurement Division that he ran for 6 years.
Nate has P.E. licenses in all 50 states and a P.Eng. license in 3 Canadian provinces. He also holds Civil P.E. licenses in CA and NV. He is a member of the ASCE 7-28 Task Committee 8 and was a member of the committee that recently published the revised standard of testing for seismic components, SPC 171.
When he is not busy running his company, Nate enjoys riding bicycles and spending time with his wife and three kids. He also loves to discuss religion and politics at dinners with his friends and colleagues.

Joseph Dickinson
Ring Power Corporation
Joseph graduated from the University of Florida with a BSME and began his career with Ring Power Corporation in 2014 as an outside sales engineer for their generator fuel tank and enclosure manufacturer. Following, he shifted to project management in their power systems division. From healthcare to water and wastewater, Joseph integrated electric power generation equipment on various projects from water to healthcare. His engagement with both clients and engineers led him to his current role as Ring Power’s electric power engineering consultant. Joseph currently works out of their Riverview, Florida office and supports project design and development with engineers across the country. In Joseph’s free time he enjoys being outdoors with his wife and son.

Matthew Erickson
Entech Sales and Service, LLC
With over 22 years of experience in the power generation industry, Matthew Erickson brings deep technical expertise and proven leadership to the dynamic world of power solutions. He began his career serving as a Nuclear Electrician’s Mate in the United States Navy aboard the USS Ohio (SSGN 726), where he developed a strong foundation in complex electrical systems and mission-critical power operations.
Matthew’s background includes extensive hands-on and managerial experience with stationary generators, auxiliary systems, transfer switches, paralleling switchgear, medium voltage installations, and microgrid operations. His technical acumen spans breaker testing and maintenance, as well as the installation and startup of generators and transformers in both fixed and rental applications.
Currently, Matthew serves as the Division Manager of Entech Sales and Service’s Power Rental Division. Under his leadership, the division has grown to support operations across six offices in three states, delivering rental power solutions throughout the United States as well as international deployments in Costa Rica and the Caribbean. His team specializes in rapid-deployment power for critical infrastructure, disaster response, and industrial applications.
Matthew is EGSA Load Bank Certified and holds EGSA Journeyman Certification. He is an active industry leader, serving as Vice Chair of the Education Committee for the Electrical Generating Systems Association (EGSA) and as a key member of the EGSA Veterans Task Force leadership team—supporting initiatives that connect military veterans with careers in power generation.
Matthew is driven by a commitment to service, operational excellence, and mentoring the next generation of industry professionals.

Joe Kendall
Schneider Electric
Joe is a Florida transplant originally from the Philadelphia/South Jersey area. While attending college at Drexel University, he worked as a chemical plant maintenance engineer, specializing in process automation controls. After acquiring his BSEE in 2015, Joe was hired as a PCS Application Engineer at ASCO Power Technologies in Florham Park, NJ, where he supported ASCO’s Paralleling Switchgear division. In the midst of 2017 Hurricane Irma’s aftermath, Joe moved to Orlando where he began working as a Field Sales Engineer. Having observed the profound impacts of the Category 4 storm, Joe decided to focus his career on the continuous enhancement of standby and emergency power systems. Over the past seven years, Joe has made substantial power design contributions on several high-profile projects in Florida and beyond. Recently married, Joe happily resides in Maitland, FL with his wife, Jessie. He enjoys a multitude of hobbies such as playing piano and working on his motorcycle.

Patrick McBrayer
Rehlko | Power Systems
Patrick McBrayer is an Engineered Solutions Manager with Rehlko Power Systems, formerly Kohler Energy. An experienced professional with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s in business administration, he has a background in electromechanical and industrial sectors, and has worked in industrial power systems including sales, manufacturing, application engineering, and technical design for more than 20 years. With in-depth expertise in power generation and internal combustion engines, he has held roles such as account manager, application engineer, and product sales manager throughout his career.
During his time as a sales leader, he has supported contractors, engineers, architects, and end users across the US providing power system design consultations, engineering, project support, and custom solutions.

Kent McLemore
Power Temp Systems
Kent has been involved in the development of the portable and permanent power industry since 1986 when Aggreko was first opened in the US. There he developed the first complete rentalized portable power distribution systems and developed their entertainment division. In 1991 he founded Power Temp Systems where they developed the standard for portable power distribution systems still used today. In 2005 he started APS Power Systems which he sold to Trystar in 2008. In 2013 he left and his team bought back Power Temp Systems where they have continued to develop the integration of the portable and permanent power worlds, helping to drive safer and better industry standards and practices in the portable generator and load bank quick connects, paralleling, ATSs, Isolation Bypass, and Switchboard industries.

Jennifer Nekuda
Rehlko | Power Systems
Jennifer Nekuda, PE is a licensed electrical professional engineer with 25 years’ experience in electrical engineering – 12 years in consulting engineering and 13 years in manufacturing. Currently, Jen is an Engineered Solutions Manager with Kohler Energy, where she works in partnership with specifiers, contractors, and customers to develop backup power solutions for a variety of applications – including, electrical and water utilities, and commercial and industrial applications. She speaks regularly at engineering seminars and industry events on a variety of topics.

Jen is a graduate from Wichita State University (Go Shockers) with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing, The University of Kansas (Go Jayhawks) with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering and a Master of Engineering in Project Management. For fun, Jen teaches technical courses at Park University in Kansas City and likes to garden, chase rainbows and sunsets, and go on Lewis and Clark adventures.

Lee Newton
Bay Power Solutions
As VP of Engineering, Lee specializes in large kW generator units out of our Richmond, VA location. He is a graduate of Old Dominion University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from the University of Richmond, having been with Bay Power for over 25 years. Lee serves on the EGSA (Electrical Generator Systems Association) board as its Treasurer and has a black belt in martial arts.

David Ng
AlphaK Holdings
David is a technology entrepreneur with a multidisciplinary background in electrical engineering, computer science, and company building. He is Head of Technology-Enablement at AlphaK, which operates businesses in mission-critical industries.
Previously, he was the founder of Purview, a software platform that automates multi-unit workforce operations through interactive workflows and remote monitoring.
Prior to that, David held senior engineering roles at Raytheon Integrated Air & Missile Defense, where he developed advanced algorithms for missile interceptors, radar systems, and space-based sensors.
David holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, and a master’s degree in Engineering Sciences from Harvard University. He also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Jon Pinney
Buckeye Power Sales
After exiting service from The Army, Jon was hired as an entry-level field service technician at Buckeye Power Sales in 1989. Jon is an EGSA-certified Journeyman technician and a Kohler Level II certified technician. Jon Returned to BPS in 2003 as a senior technician. Shortly after, he started developing a training program for the new entry-level technicians. In 2005 Jon was promoted to Service Manager of the Twinsburg (Cleveland) branch. His commitment to training the next generation of technicians is now an even higher priority. In 2022 he became the Learning and Development Manager for BPS. Of the 40 years Jon has been in the generator industry, over 27 years has been with Buckeye Power Sales.
Jon sits on the Advisory Board of Ohio Technical College in Cleveland and is heavily involved with their Generator training program. Jon is also the Chairman of the EGSA Education Committee.

Chris Reynolds
United Rentals
Chris Reynolds is the District Manager of Power and HVAC for the Coastal District at United Rentals Inc. With over 15 years of experience in disaster recovery. In his role, he oversees emergency infrastructure solutions that support critical facilities and communities during times of crisis. Chris led the War Room Support in Tampa, Florida during Hurricanes Helene and Milton in 2024, coordinating rapid deployment of power and HVAC systems across the Gulf Coast. His leadership was instrumental in stabilizing operations for hospitals, shelters, and municipal services throughout the region.

David Richardson
FEMA
Mr. David Richardson is the current Senior Official Performing the Duties of FEMA Administrator. He was previously appointed as the Assistant Secretary for the Department of Homeland Security's Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office (CWMD). CWMD leads DHS efforts and coordinates with domestic and international partners to safeguard the United States against chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats.
Mr. Richardson previously served as a United States Marine Corps ground combat officer. In uniform, he commanded artillery units, taught history at the George Washington University, strategy at the U.S. Army Field Artillery School, and Marine Corps Martial Arts. During the Long War, he served in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Africa. Mr. Richardson was awarded for valor during combat operations.
Mr. Richardson hails from Waterford, Michigan. He received a B.S. in biology from Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas. He lives in Northern Virginia with his two sons.

Masoud Sadat brought his expertise in heat transfer and cooling solutions to Sutton Stromart after more than a decade in mechanical engineering. His career spans the oil, gas, and power sectors, where he has led product development, thermal design, and performance optimization projects, including patented turbine cooling innovations. Holding both an M.Eng. and an MBA, Masoud blends technical depth with project leadership, delivering solutions that balance performance, cost, and reliability. At Sutton Stromart, he is advancing air-cooled heat exchanger performance to meet the evolving demands of climate and industry.

Michael Sanford
Cummins Inc.
Michael serves as Cummins Business Development Manager for North America within the New Energy Solutions organization while also managing Federal and state energy policy related to microgrids and distributed energy resources. He has over 12 years of experience in the power generation industry having started his career with MTU Onsite Energy in 2012 and joining Cummins in 2014.
Michael has served Cummins in a variety of roles including having led the North America Sales Application Engineering organization, launching the Technical Marketing business function and most recently served as the US Energy Policy Manager and Product Strategy and Sales Enablement Leader for Cummins Sales and Service, North America. Mike also serves the Electrical Generating Systems Association (EGSA) as an Executive Director and is actively engaged in a number of energy trade organizations.

Steve Sappington
Steve is a graduate electrical engineer and holds a Master of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health. He is a Journeyman Wireman (electrician), and holds unrestricted electrical contractor licenses in Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina having been in practice for over 40 years. He has served as an electrical apprenticeship instructor for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) and the National Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (NJATC). Steve is fully board certified as an Electrical Inspector by the International Association of Electrical Inspectors (IAEI) and is a certified Caterpillar Electric Power Analyst and Electric Power Product Support Manager.

Steve serves on multiple standard technical committees formed by UL, ISO, CSA, and NFPA. Additionally, Steve is a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Certificated Flight Instructor and Commercial Pilot. Steve has a passion for safety and it is from his many diverse experiences around the world that he draws safety related material for this dynamic presentation.

Sahil Shanghavi

Sahil Shanghavi is a Sales Director at ASCO and a seasoned power systems engineer with over a decade of experience in the electrical and energy industry. In his current role, Sahil leads commercial strategy and customer engagement for ASCO’s mission-critical power solutions, working with customers of all sizes across diverse segments including healthcare, data centers, and other critical infrastructure. Previously, Sahil held senior engineering and leadership positions at Schneider Electric, where he managed global teams through the design and delivery of hyperscale data centers, acted as a trusted advisor to major clients, and drove innovation in scalable, sustainable infrastructure. Sahil holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with an Engineering Management minor from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and executive education from Harvard Business School. He is passionate about technology, energy, and sustainability, and brings a global, multilingual perspective to every engagement.

Dr. Travis Smith

I'm originally from Rockford Illinois and attended school at Lewis University on a track scholarship. Back in my younger days, I was quite the runner and was actually a world-class hurdler. I received my master's degree from Eastern Kentucky University in Safety, Security and Emergency Management. I have a doctorate in Criminal Justice from Northcentral University. For the past 25 years I have worked in environmental health and safety and as an adjunct faculty at various colleges and universities.
I am married and have two children. I have a daughter in college who is 28 and a graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University and Texas Christian University (M. Ed) and a son who 18 who will be attending Florida Gulf Coast University this Fall. My wife is a media specialist at a local high school in the county in which we live. I presently reside in Riverview, Florida and my passions are photography, flying my drones, and being a beach bum!
