● Disaster Preparedness & Emergency Response: Ensure standby power is fully integrated into FEMA, DHS, and state emergency planning, with funding for critical facilities to deploy or upgrade backup systems.

 

● Fair & Practical Emissions Standards: Work with EPA and state regulators on reasonable emissions standards and realistic timelines, ensuring compliance is achievable without compromising emergency readiness.

 

● Energy Transition & Decarbonization: Support pathways for generators to operate on renewable diesel, hydrogen, RNG, and other low-carbon fuels, positioning our sector as a bridge to a cleaner but reliable energy mix.

 

● Workforce Development: Expand training and apprenticeship opportunities for generator technicians and promote EGSA certification as a recognized industry credential.

 

● Infrastructure Investment: Secure inclusion of onsite generation in federal and state infrastructure programs, grants, and tax incentives—especially for healthcare, water, telecom, and data centers.

 

● Fuel Supply & Resilience: Protect access to diverse fuel supplies during emergencies and promote policies that encourage resilient microgrids and hybrid systems.

 

● Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Protection: Ensure backup systems are included in national cybersecurity and critical infrastructure resilience initiatives.

 

● Streamlined Permitting: Advocate for faster, more consistent permitting and zoning approvals for standby generators at critical facilities.

 

● Supply Chain Stability & Trade: Promote domestic manufacturing, supply chain resilience, and fair international trade for engines, parts, and components vital to our industry.
